Miss Daisy joined us in April 2010. She came to us through St. Hubert's in Madison after they rescued 100 puppies from a puppy mill in Pennsylvania. These puppies were going to be euthanized by the mill owners but instead eagerly "gave up" the rejected pups to St. Hubert's as it costs them money to put them down. We're not sure what breed Miss Daisy is, but she has a lot of spunk and is happy to be with Cisco and Bella.
About Puppy Mills
Puppy mills sell to pet stores, which consider them "reputable breeders" but that is far from the truth. Puppy mills breed for personal financial gain. If a dog cannot be bred, for whatever reason, they are euthanized as they cannot bring revenue to the puppy mill. In Miss Daisy's case, she lived for nearly 6 months, without being bred, and was fortunately rescued in the nick of time. She was one of the lucky ones. For more information about puppy mills and how to help shut them down, visit www.aspca.org.

Cisco is the blue merle Sheltie and Bella is the sable and white Sheltie. Cisco is from a reputable breeder in Connecticut while Bella is a rescue from R.B.A.R.I. in Oakland. All three dogs are happy and safe in their yards thanks to the ifence pet fence!
